Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

With the 23rd Commonwealth Games set to be a pioneering model for the future both visually and sustainably, Scotland’s largest city was chosen to pave the way for future Games. A city famous for its industrial heritage and friendly disposition, Glasgow knows a thing or two about putting on a show with warm, welcoming spirit. Building on our 10-year partnership with Team Scotland, we were delighted to be asked to develop the branding and creative vision for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. By combining the vision of Glasgow 2026 with the enduring values and nature of the Commonwealth movement, the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games is the first games to showcase a new integrated branding concept. The logo is our love letter to Glasgow with elements of the River Clyde, The Clyde Arc and the Finnieston Crane coming together in a fusion of architecture and culture at the central hub within the celebration device of Commonwealth Sport.

The River Clyde serves as the heart of Glasgow, playing a pivotal role in the city’s history, economy, and culture. The Glasgow Clyde Arc, often referred to as the Squinty Bridge due to its distinctive curved shape, is a vital piece of infrastructure that spans the River Clyde. The Finnieston Crane, as a preserved historic monument, provides a tangible link to Glasgow’s industrial past while standing amid modern developments, symbolising the city’s ongoing evolution. The simplified shapes of the city’s three iconic landmarks combine to create the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games logo and graphic elements. The Glasgow graphic elements are used to create interesting and powerful visuals, forming a fully flexible brand identity that reflects the vibrant, beating heart of the city.
